WSJ: SolidX Bitcoin trust files for IPO
Financial services provider SolidX Partners Inc. on Tuesday disclosed plans for an initial public offering for SolidX Bitcoin Trust. SolidX Partners provides blockchain-based software services relating to the recording of records, transfer of assets and identity.
The New York-based company said in its S-1 securities filing Tuesday that the offering will allow investors to witness the daily change in bitcoin’s U.S. dollar price before expenses and liabilities of the trust, as measured by the Trade Block XBX Index. SolidX said the trust isn’t actively managed.
The trust will be listed on NYSE Arca under ticker symbol XBTC. In the filing, the company said it planned to raise up to $1 million, though that is a placeholder number and could change.
