Swiss FINMA publishes guidelines for applying for new fintech license

posted 6 months ago
Switzerland’s financial regulator, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, is to offer a new fintech license available for blockchain firms. The license is a modification of banking laws which will allow licensees to accept up to 100 million Swiss francs (~$100 million) from the public as long as they do not invest the money, or pay interest on it.

The new license has been in development since February and will become active on January 1st. Companies must fulfill minimum capital requirements, agree to a financial audit, and more.
