South Korean telecom firm KT launches blockchain based 5G network

posted about 1 month ago
South Korea’s largest telecom firm KT launched a blockchain-powered 5G network. It's called “GiGA Chain” and also intends to boost the security of Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices and protect them from cyberattacks. GiGA Stealth technology prevents hacking attacks by hiding the IP addresses of the connected devices.

KT also introduced GiGA Chain Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) enabling organizations to use blockchain-based applications and deploy features such as smart contracts which allow companies to exchange money, property or anything of value in a transparent way without requiring the services of a middleman. KT’s blockchain tech is now also used for the digitization of vouchers that local governments have issued to their residents.
