A sudden influx of nodes on Bitcoin’s Lightning Network (LN) has seen capacity increase to new all-time highs as the scaling solution is now handling over $2 million in BTC. Data from monitoring resource 1ML.com reveals the past week has seen overall capacity shoot up almost 300% to 438 BTC.

The number of channels has also skyrocketed, hitting more than 12,000 as November 22nd. However, critics have also urged caution on Lightning growing too fast before technical robustness has been perfected, including Bitcoin.org creator Cobra, Core developer Peter Todd, and more.
