Lightning Bitcoin accepted for drive through fast food in Australia

Perhaps it’s a world first. TravelbyBit, an online travel booking platform for using Bitcoin to pay for flights, accommodations, meals etc. showed an instant meal purchase using Bitcoin.

At the Origin Kebab Eagleby Drive-Thru in Queensland, Australia, a TravelbyBit team member ordered a six-nugget meal. To pay for his nuggets in Bitcoin, he scans the barcode on the merchant’s tablet using his Lightning Network-enabled wallet. After a few seconds, the transaction is confirmed. In addition to Bitcoin, the eatery accepts Litecoin.
