Japanese Bitcoin exchange Coincheck that lost $500M to receive full licensing by years end

Coincheck, known for being the largest theft in cryptocurrency history, was hacked for half a billion dollars in January of 2018, and today Japanese media reported that Coincheck will be receiving a license by year’s end. The exchange made some changes, no longer operated by the same people, it had delisted 3 privacy coins, Monero, Zcash, and Dash.

Over 200 other Japanese crypto businesses and exchanges are awaiting approval from the Japanese Financial Service Agency. At time of writing, Coincheck had done $22 million in volume over the past 24 hours, putting it in the middle of the list of top exchanges by volume.
