German investment firm Xolaris launched a European private-equity fund focused on Bitcoin mining. Xolaris expects to raise ~$40 to $50 million for the four-year project.

“Professional investors kept asking us to create a regulated product in the area of cryptocurrencies,” said Stefan Klaile, the CEO of Xolaris. The fund has a minimum investment of $285,000. Klaile said the new fund is a joint venture with the owner of a 2,000-supercomputer mining farm in Sweden. Some of the fund’s capital will be used to expand that data center in Sweden.
