Chainalysis just published a report on cyber crime, and in particular, crimes involving cryptocurrencies. The report said that 1.1% of all global cryptocurrency activity for the year 2019 were of criminal nature. This 1.1% is equal to about $11 Billion USD.

The majority of crimes involved pertain to terrorism financing and darknet markets. Next, stolen funds, these three make up for the vast majority of the illicit money streams. Scams, sanction evasion, and ransomware aren’t even visible on these charts.
