Brazil trades a record 100,000 Bitcoin in 24 hours

Brazil, the largest Latin American economy, broke a new record as Brazilian exchanges traded over 100,000 Bitcoin in 24 hours. At the same time, Brazil reported that its economic activity in February fell to the lowest level in the last 9 months.

Many point to the country’s economic ills as one of the reasons for the upsurge of its cryptocurrency market. A slump in the economy may indeed be the reason for the rise of cryptocurrencies in Brazil.
