Bakkt now offers custodial services for storing Bitcoin with “armed guards”

Intercontinental Exchange’s Bitcoin subsidiary Bakkt announced it would provide custody services for institutional clients. Pantera Capital, Galaxy Digital and Tagomi have already signed on as initial customers for “Bakkt Warehouse.”

Bakkt received an additional approval from US financial regulators. Bakkt COO Adam White wrote that “a critical link... in the institutional adoption of Bitcoin is custody... When investors have ready access to regulated custodians whose security and processes they trust, the full potential of this emerging asset class and technology can flourish. The Bakkt Warehouse employs extensive physical, operational and cybersecurity safeguards too... There’s also 24×7 video monitoring, armed guards and security operations and incident response teams.”
