A Tesla ran a full Bitcoin node today

Tesla cars are capable of a lot, self-driving, automatic parking, and what about running Bitcoin? As it turns out, they can do that too. A cryptocurrency fan (specificically Bcoin) shared a video of a Tesla’s onboard computer system operating as a Bitcoin full node. Bcoin is an alternative implementation of the Bitcoin protocol that any machine — like Tesla‘s onboard computer — can run via its internet browser to join in the consensus process.

So, for at least a short while, there was a Tesla car out there helping to keep Bitcoin chugging along smoothly. Notably, it’s probably safer to run a Bitcoin full node on something smaller like a Raspberry Pi than a Tesla as the Tesla’s CPU’s resources could potentially be drained thus making it unsafe to drive.
