A new vulnerability in Bitcoin Unlimited client was discovered: with a crafted XTHIN request, any node running XTHIN can be remotely crashed. This is a vulnerability that would have left the entire network open to being crashed if Bitcoin Unlimited was a predominant client.

The news sent Bitcoin Unlimited nodes count spiraling down causing both miners and regular users to switch or turn off their BU client software.
