Supermarket kiosk chain Coinstar is expanding its Bitcoin-buying service to more than 2,000 locations in 19 different states. The service offers individuals the ability to convert cash into Bitcoin. Kiosks are now located in Albertsons, Safeway, Jewel, Shaw’s and Save Mart stores.

Coinstar CEO Jim Gaherity said his company saw an “extremely positive” response to the initial launch in January 2019 when Coinstar announced that customers could purchase Bitcoin with US dollars. Since the initial launch, the kiosks saw a 15% week-over-week growth in user acquisition and Coinstar plans to continue expanding to new markets in the coming months, indicating Coinstar is responding to the increasing demand for Bitcoin machines.
